President Barzani: The two martyrs, Abdul Salam Barzani and Mar Shimon established the principles of peaceful coexistence and brotherhood

ARK News... President Masoud Barzani, on Monday, September 12, 2022, attended the opening ceremony of the patriarchal sect of the Assyrian Church of the East in Erbil.
President Barzani delivered a speech to the audience, the text of which is as follows:

Dear attendees,

I am very pleased to share with you your celebration today of this occasion that symbolizes the historical relationship that was established a hundred years ago between the two great martyrs, the martyr Sheikh Abdul Salam Barzani and Mar Shimon, where at that time the principle of peaceful coexistence and brotherhood was established.
Dear brothers and sisters:

There is nothing more beautiful and better than to live together in one country, and the important thing is that we all worship God, this is the most important thing, and it is an honor and pride for us that this principle has become the principle of everyone in Kurdistan for all religions, nationalities, and sects, and we must continue to do so forever.

I congratulate this great church and all the Christian brothers, assuring you that we will continue to support all our people in Kurdistan, regardless of nationality, religion, or sect. Everyone in our country should live in brotherhood with pride and freedom, wishing you all success and happiness.
