ARK News... President Masoud Barzani on Wednesday said that the Kurdistan Region has no objection to holding early Iraqi elections, provided that an appropriate political and legal ground is created for them.

President Barzani's statements came when he received a delegation from the US State Department consisting of US Assistant Secretary of State for Middle Eastern Affairs Barbara Leaf, along with an accompanying delegation.

Barbara said that President Biden views the Kurdistan Region with great importance and that the region is one of the country's foreign policy priorities, stressing that he sees the sovereignty and stability of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq as the basis for stability and development in the region.

On the other hand, Barbara expressed her country's deep concern over the relations between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government, appreciating at the same time the role of President Barzani in addressing differences in accordance with the principles of the Constitution, through his influence and wisdom in dealing with problems.

President Barzani stressed that the differences and outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad must be resolved within the framework of the constitution, pointing out that any agreement that occurs in this framework must be on this basis and work on it clearly and seriously, stressing that it is not permissible for any party to try to marginalize and exclude the other.

President Masoud Barzani said that "there is no objection to holding early elections, provided that a political and legal ground is prepared for them, and that no party or component is marginalized and that the election results are to be respected."
