Dr. Abdel Hakim Bashar: "The presence of the Kurds in the opposition means participation in the political process and building the future of Syria"

Dr. Abdel Hakim Bashar, a member of the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, and Vice President of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, said that the presence of the Kurds, represented by the Kurdish National Council, within the opposition, especially the coalition, means the participation of the Kurds in contributing to the political process and building a future of Syria and the defense of the rights of the Kurds in it.

Dr. Abdel Hakim Bashar held a political seminar in the Darashakran camp for Kurdish refugees in the countryside of Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region. He talked about the latest political developments, the political process, the summits of Jeddah, Tehran, and Sochi, as well as recent Turkish statements.

The seminar was attended by Muhammad Shireen, a member of the party's central committee, and Khalid Ali, the party's media director in the Kurdistan Region, in addition to a large number of Kurdish refugees residing in the camp.

ARK correspondent said that Dr. Abdel Hakim Bashar indicated in his seminar that there is no indication of an important change in the official Turkish policy due to the complexities of the relationship between Turkey and the Syrian regime at various levels.

He spoke about the meeting of the Turkish Foreign Minister with a delegation consisting of the heads of the coalition, the Negotiating Committee, and the government, as the minister stressed Turkey's firmness in its supportive stance toward the Syrian people.

He also spoke about the position of the Kurds in the opposition, pointing out that the presence of the Kurds, represented by the Kurdish National Council, within the opposition, specifically the coalition, means the participation of the Kurds in contributing to the political process, building the future of Syria and defending the rights of the Kurds.

He touched on contributing to the return of the people of Afrin and Serê Kaniyê and improving their conditions by communicating with the relevant and active authorities.

At the end of the seminar, Dr. Abdel Hakim Bashar answered questions and inquiries from the audience.
