The coalition brings in 13 new members
ARK News... The Syrian National Coalition announced the inclusion of thirteen new members representing provincial and local councils, the Association of Syrian Kurdish Independents, and independent personalities to the General Body.
In this context, the Syrian National Coalition said that it was part of the reform plan that it had previously approved, and the completion of the expansion project to include representatives of revolutionary events and institutions.
According to the sources, the new members are: “Hussein Ra’ad, representing the local council of Serê Kaniyê city, Muhammad al-Hamdo representing the local council of Girê Spî “, Ali Melham representing the local council of Jarablis, and Muhammad Haitham al-Zain al-Shihabi representing the local council of the city of al-Bab, and Ibrahim Derbalah representing the local council of the city of Izaz.
Likewise, "Muhammad Sheikh Rashid, representing the Afrin City Local Council, Azad Muhammad Othman and Mahmoud Hadi Farhan, representing the Syrian Kurdish Independent League, and Dr. Salim Idris as an independent figure, in addition to Abdullah Hajj Zeno representing the Aleppo Provincial Council, and Youssef Abbas representing the Idlib Provincial Council. Muhammad Salem Al-Makhlif, representing the Deir Ezzor Governorate Council, and Jihad Matar, representing the Raqqa Provincial Council.
The General Body of the National Coalition had approved by its majority the reform plan that aims to enhance the legitimacy of representation in the National Coalition and that the representation is credible and inclusive for all, and subsequently accepted the replacement requests sent by the four provincial councils earlier.
The head of the Syrian National Coalition, Salem al-Muslet, had previously stressed the importance of the reform process carried out by the National Coalition, stressing that it is a real demand of the Syrian people and came within a purely Syrian national agenda, at a time when those excluded from the coalition considered it a coup within the institution.
The General Body, with its majority, approved the new internal system of the coalition, and the members of the General Body agreed to increase the representation of the Syrian Kurdish Independent League within the General Body from one to three seats. The members of the General Body also voted to terminate the membership of four components of the coalition, namely the “National Action Movement and the National Bloc.” The establishment, the revolutionary movement, and the Independent Kurdish Movement,” and they voted to keep “Hisham Marwa and Nasr Hariri” as independent members.
