Zelensky is grateful to Britain: provides Kyiv with appropriate weapons

ARK News... On Monday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the UK was providing Kyiv with the weapons it needed to fight the war with Russia, and thanked Prime Minister Boris Johnson for his "full" awareness of the needs, according to Reuters.

Britain said on Monday that it would provide Ukraine, in coordination with the United States, with missile launcher systems that can strike targets up to 80 km away as part of new British military aid.

"I am grateful to Prime Minister Boris Johnson for being fully aware of our demands and his willingness to provide Ukraine with exactly the weapons it needs to protect the lives of our people," Zelensky said in his nightly video address.

Days earlier Ukrainian and Russian forces fought street-to-street battles to control the industrial city of Severodonetsk in a pivotal battle in the Kremlin's attack on the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine.

Zelensky and Johnson had a phone conversation, in which Zelensky said earlier, that they discussed "ways to avoid the food crisis and end the blockade of (Ukrainian) ports," referring to the Russian naval blockade of Ukraine, which made it unable to export a large part of its agricultural products.
