Masrour Barzani: The Kurdistan Region is a permanent factor of stability and did not pose a threat against any party
The Kurdistan Region is determined to secure its rights and it will not give up on its entitlements granted by the Constitution, said Prime Minister Masrour Barzani.
The statement was made in PM Barzani’s message on the occasion of Nawroz, the Kurdish New Year’s Eve.
“Newroz has, throughout the history of the Kurdish people, been a symbol of resistance against tyranny, freedom, and survival. The Kurdish people still continue to struggle for their constitutional rights, and will in no way cede any of their national rights,” PM Barzani said.
“On this day, we once again reiterate the crucial role of the Kurdistan Region in the stability of the entire region, and note that the Region has never been a threat to anyone,” he added, reminding that the Kurdistan Region has always played an important role in promoting coexistence between all the different components of Iraq and the Region.
He, meanwhile, offered “warmest congratulations” to all the people of Kurdistan, particularly our brave Peshmerga and security forces, and the families of our martyrs.
“I hope that everyone spends these holidays in a calm and joyful way while staying mindful of protecting nature when they go to picnics,” the Kurdish leader said.
