President Barzani: Kurdistan Region will remain a beautiful painting of coexistence, tolerance, and religious freedom
ARK News… The newly elected Patriarch of Assyrian Church of the East, Mar Awa III, highlighted Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani’s role in preserving and promoting peaceful coexistence between the ethnic and religious communities in the Kurdistan Region, according to an official press release.
Mar Awa III and Barzani met on Tuesday in Erbil, a day after a ceremony where the new patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East was appointed.
Patriarch Mar Awa III also underlined the historic relations between Barzani and the Assyrian Church of the East, whose headquarters has recently been moved to Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region.
Barzani congratulated Patriarch Mar Awa III on his new position and wished him success, a press release by the Barzani Headquarters said.
The Kurdish leader reminded that Kurdistan is the homeland of peace and coexistence, and culture should be preselected and further strengthened.
