The local council in Sheye(Şiyê) town holds a meeting on the olive harvest

ARK News: The Local Council held on 24/9/2018, in the town of Sheye a special meeting on olive harvest 2018, in the meeting the council examined the problems and obstacles that may be hindered by the process of harvesting the crop and finding proper ways to protect the crop according to the proper standards and according to the requirements of the public interest.

The meeting took several important decisions regarding the protection of the olive harvest from theft and looting by any individual, especially the harvest of the crop is on the doors and these decisions include the following:

1 - It is strictly forbidden the shop owners and shops to buy for green and black olives until 15/11/2018 under penalty of fine and closing the shop with red wax.
2 - The traders and wholesale shops licensed when buying green olives they have to make sure that they buy from the owner, and in the event of the emergence of otherwise are referred to the judiciary.
3 - Not to operate olive presses until 10/10/2018.
4- The issue of disposing of the olive fields which owned by absentees, which is exclusively for the local council, according to the decision issued by the General Staff of the National Army Command on 19/9/2018 and according to the agreement between the Turkish governor and the leaders of factions and heads of local councils in Afrin region.
5 - We call on all the people in the villages of Sheye town to return to the local council in the event of any complaint regarding their seasons.

Pointing that if these decisions and procedures are implemented, it will protect the crop of people from looting, especially the fear of the people of Kurd of the new Arab settlers who seized the homes of citizens of Kurds by force, and fear of the armed groups to put their hands on olive fields and harvest their crops at gunpoint.

In the same context, the military police arrested three elements of (Liwaa el-Shamal) who control the village of Sheikh Bilal (Şêx Bila), after they had brought several days before of more than 15 of displaced Arab families and a car full of men and others filled with olive packages and distributed among the fields to harvest the olives by force, but all the villagers objected to the settlers and the gunmen and prevented them from entering the olive fields

It is noteworthy that the pro-Turkish armed groups, which participated in the occupation of Afrin region, committed dozens of crimes against citizens of the sons the region, such as murder, kidnapping, looting, theft and burning crops, the seizure of property of citizens, as well as the destruction of monuments and religious, the latest of which is the robbery of the olive harvest to the people of the region despite the decision of the interim government affirms not to prejudice the olive harvest under the responsibility.
