PYD disperses a demonstration of Yezidi refugees in Derik camp
ARK News: A demonstration by Yezidi refugees at the Newroz camp in Derik was dispersed by PYD militants that they had been protesting for the abduction of their children by PYD.
A special source from Derik city told ARK News that a group of young Kurdish Yezidi refugees from Newroz camp in rural Derik had been arrested by the PYD militants and gathered near the cemetery of Derik city.
The source said that the residents objected and denounced to the abduction of their children and involved them in the PYD battles, and they organized a demonstration for PYD acts, but the militants dispersed the demonstration by force and attacked them.
The source, who preferred not to be named, said that the demonstration left Newroz camp in the direction of Derik, and when they arrived at Derik's cemetery at the entrance to the city on the Ein Dewar road, the PYD militants intercepted and dispersed the demonstration by force, they said to the demonstrators: "We protect you from the ISIS in Shangal and we have favor on all of you, and your objection to the recruitment of your children means that you support the ISIS”.
“Among the demonstrators were women and children who fled away and hid in nearby houses to escape from the PYD militants”, according to the same source.
Hundreds of young men and women of Yezidi were recruited, most of them were from Newroz camp. They were included in their wars outside the Kurdish areas of Syria, such as Raqqa, Tabqa, Manbij, and Deir Al-Zour.
In Shangal, also PYD claimed that they announced self-administration in it, but soon their militants merged with the Iraqi Hashed Al Shabi after the occupation of Shangal by the Hashed and Iraqi forces.
