ARK News: Under the supervision of the Education Office of the Bulbul town Council in Afrin Kurdistan, a number of schools were opened in the villages of Bulbul town and the students began on their official duty.

“11 schools in the villages belonging to Bulbul town opened on 16/9/2018 in front of the students and the students started on official days under the supervision of the educational office of the Council of the Bulbul town”, Mohamed Sidou, deputy head of the local council in Bulbul town said to ARK News.

"Some teachers underwent a training course in Turkey earlier this month, and all teachers are now being rehabilitated in an educational training course in the village of Quota belonging to Bulbul town by a cadre of educators who have already undergone a training course in Turkey," he said.

He added that the schools that were opened in the villages of the area are as follows: the school of Qurney, Kori Gol, Upila, Zahrey, Quota, Bebaka, Kaila, Hasandera, Kare, Khilalka and Qizilpasha. The number of teachers in the course exceeds 200 teachers. The Kurdish language will be taught as a language within the syllabus. The remaining textbooks will be secured in the near future.

The majority of schools in the villages and towns belonging to Afrin city were damaged by the war and shelling. Despite the limited potential of local councils, they seek to open all schools and return students to education after months of interruption because of war.
