Kurdish Leaders Offer Condolences on Passing of Prince Philip

Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani and Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Friday extended condolences to the British royal family, government? and the British people over the death of Prince Philip.

“On behalf of the people of the Kurdistan Region, I extend my heartfelt condolences on the passing of the Duke of Edinburgh, HRH Prince Philip. My thoughts and prayers are with the people of the United Kingdom and the British royal family during this difficult time,” the president of Kurdistan Region said in a statement.

Prince Philip died at Windsor Castle in London on Friday, Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

He had been hospitalized in February and March this year for heart complications.

“My deepest condolences to Her Majesty The Queen and the British government and people on the passing of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh after a lifetime of service,” Prime Minister Masrour Barzani said in a separate statement.

“My thoughts are with the whole Royal Family in this difficult time,” he added.
