Kurdistan Region President to Meet with Macron in Paris

Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani is set to visit Paris today Tuesday and meet with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace.

Barzani’s office said the visit is at the official invitation of Macron to allow the leaders to discuss the latest developments in the region as well as the bilateral ties between Erbil and Paris.

The COVID-19 crisis and its implications, the ongoing threat of terrorism, and the international efforts to defeat the Islamic State (IS) will be discussed among other topics, according to a statement from Kurdistan Region Presidency.
