ARK News… On Monday, March 29, 2021, the Kurdish movement lost one of the national figures in Syrian Kurdistan, the fighter Suleiman Haj Abbas, one of the first generation of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria.

A brief summary of the life of the national figure Suleiman Hajj Abbas, according to ARK sources

He was born in 1930, in the village of Laylan Kabir in Tirbaspiye town of Qamishlo in Syrian Kurdistan and studied elementary school in the village, then moved to Qamishlo city and studied middle school there.

The fighter Suleiman Hajj Abbas in his prime, at the beginning of the establishment of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria in 1957, joined the party, and fought in the party with sincerity and devotion, until his departure.

During his move to the city of Qamishlo, the fighter Suleiman Hajj Abbas met a group of young Kurds, and they began their party and cultural activities and worked within the youth organization of the party, he also worked in the Sanjaq organization for the party and was Branch Committee member of the organization at that time.

In addition to his party’s work, he was interested in the Kurdish language and attended many educational courses and cultural seminars. He attended the party conference in 1970, and during the persecution and harassment of party leadership, his home was a safe haven for these leaders in the village of Laylan Kabir.

He received an official invitation from Saud Al-Mulla, the current party secretary, to attend the conference in 2014, as one of the most prominent figures in the party, but his health prevented him from participating in the conference, and he offered an apology for not being able to participate, and he remained loyal to Barzani's immortal approach, until his departure.

The fighter Suleiman Hajj Abbas Youssef, on Monday morning 29/03/2021, died and his body was buried, in the village of Hilwa Sheikh in the countryside of Qamishlo city.
