The governor of Erbil takes the legal oath in front of the President of the Kurdistan Region
ARK News… Mr. Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region, signed, on Thursday, February 18, 2021, the Regional order to appoint Mr. Omid Khoshnaw as the new governor of Erbil, then, in a ceremony attended by Mr. Rebar Ahmed, Minister of Interior of the Kurdistan Region, the new governor of Erbil took the legal oath before his excellency the president of the Kurdistan Region.
In his speech, his excellency president Nechirvan Barzani congratulated the new governor of Erbil and wished him success, his excellency indicated that the task of the governor of Erbil is difficult, especially in this circumstance in which the Kurdistan Region is facing a set of problems and crises, and he stressed that the governor of Erbil should be the governor of all Erbil residents with all their components and looks at all sides with one eye.
His excellency president Nechirvan Barzani also recalled the late governor of Erbil, Dr. Sofi, who passed away as a result of contracting COVID-19, he also offers condoles all the families who lost their loved ones as a result of this epidemic, his excellency also reminded the late governor of Erbil, the late Franco Hariri, which coincides with the anniversary of his martyrdom.
President Nechirvan Barzani assured Mr. Omid Khoshnaw that he will have all the help and support from his excellency and the presidency of the Kurdistan Region and the Kurdistan Regional Government in order to succeed in performing his duties and serve Erbil governorate and its citizens in the best way.
