Omid Khoshnaw nomination for the post of Governor of Erbil

The head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) bloc in the Kurdistan Parliament, Omid Khoshnaw, was nominated to take over the position of Governor of Erbil.
A source close to Khoshnaw told Kurdistan 24 that Khoshnaw had agreed to occupy the position.
This comes after the departure of the former governor of Erbil, Firsat Sofi, on November 18, 2020, as a result of his infection with Corona.
The Vice President of the Governor, Hayman Qadir, is currently holding the position.
