KR: Protesters Shoot KDP Office Guard Dead, Wound Two
ARK News… Demonstrators in Penjwen raided the representation office of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) on Tuesday evening, shooting a guard dead and wounding two others.
Noraddin Basharati, head of the office, confirmed to BasNews that the protesters raided the KDP headquarters in Penjwen district of Sulaimaniyah province, noting that the representatives of the Kurdish party attempted to deal with the demonstrators peacefully and talk to them, trying to explain to them that setting the building on fire would not address their demands.
However, the protesters responded with bullets and killed a KDP guard while leaving two others injured, he revealed.
The victim was identified as Awat Talib, according to the official.
Bakir Meshawi, a KDP official in Penjwen, also confirmed the report to BasNews and pointed out that those protesters who raided the office wore face masks and carried guns, adding that only the branch office of KDP was burned in the district.
