ARK News… The Minister of Interior of the Kurdistan Regional Government confirmed in a press conference, on Wednesday, that the crimes committed against Yazidis are completely unacceptable, that 2000 Yezidis who were kidnapped by ISIS have been rescued so far, and that efforts are continuing to save more of them.

The Minister of Interior said in a press conference he held on Wednesday in Erbil on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, with a group of Yezidi women who were liberated from ISIS: “The Prime Minister insists on equal rights for all human beings and between men and women. Therefore, women in Kurdistan have a special position and have been honored and granted high administrative positions, and on this day, with the launch of the campaign to combat violence against women, we announce our determination to confront this violence”.

Referring to the genocide of the Yezidis, Rebar Ahmed continued: “The crimes committed by ISIS were crimes against humanity, especially those that were committed against the Yezidis, so an agreement was reached with the Iraqi government to heal the wounds of the Yezidis so that the indigenous people of the region could return to their areas and work on Laying the foundations for coexistence, and Senegalese residents will benefit from this agreement in the first place. ”

The Minister of Interior said: “We have decided to employ numbers of police in Shangal, and some of the police will be women who have been liberated from ISIS to apply the law themselves,” stressing that “the Kurdistan Regional Government is trying to help these survivors and all victims of ISIS.”

For her part, Ashwaq Haji, representative of the Yezidi women freed from ISIS, said: “The Kurdistan Regional Government helped us a lot, and today we want to send a message of thanks to the Kurdistan Regional Government and ask it to work hard to save the rest of the kidnapped.”
