President of Kurdistan Region condoles the departure of Firsat Sofi, Governor of Erbil

ARK News… The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, condoled the death of the Governor of Erbil, Firsat Sofi, describing him as a competent and sincere figure.

Nechirvan Barzani said in a telegram of condolences, "We express our grief and condolences over the death of the Governor of Erbil, Dr. Firsat Sofi, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, his relatives and all the people of Erbil and Kurdistan."

He added that Sofi played, at an early age, an important role in the ranks of the Kurdistan Students' Union, and he was an effective, legal, competent parliamentarian, devoted, honest, patriotic, and loyal, which made him a popular and sincere figure.

He continued, "After assuming the position of Governor of Erbil, he was a very loyal figure to solve the problems of citizens, and he had many projects in all regions of Erbil, and unfortunately death did not allow him to provide more services to Erbil and the Kurdistan Region."

It came in the condolence telegram: "We ask God, may He be glorified, be blessed by the mercy of the deceased... And the work and sincerity of Dr. Firsat Sofi will always remain in our memories."
