ARK News: Huge fire broke out in separate locations in the Kurdish region of Afrin, on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, causing extensive damage to agricultural fields and forest trees.

An informed source told ARK News: A huge fire broke out in the village of Soghanake of Sherawa area. Adding: The fire caused the burning of large areas of agricultural fields.

For his part, another source said that the fire broke out in the forests of the village of Anqale of Jenderes township. While the Civil Defense Directorate stated that the fire lasted for five hours.

The civil defense confirmed that the fire was extinguished after hours of work.
The Human Rights Organization in Afrin said that on Sunday afternoon, a group of armed settlers set fire to several locations in the jungle overlooking the village of Barava of Shara township.

The Organization added: Because of the difficult terrain, the civil defense team's car was unable to reach the site, forcing its elements to extinguish the fire manually by cutting the road in front of the fire inflammation, which continued until the evening.

Fires broke out a few days ago in the mountains of Rajo township, and the fires continued for many hours before they could be extinguished.

Local sources from Afrin told ARK: The fires devoured large areas of the mountains of Sheikh Bilal village of Rajo township, and lasted for several hours. Causing the burning of thousands of forest trees.

For its part, the General Directorate of Civil Defense said on its official page: "A fire broke out in the mountainous forested area in the village of Sheikh Bilal in the countryside of Rajo township, where it took 9 continuous hours to surround a fire that spanned 5 hectares of forest trees.


The Organization concluded: The armed elements affiliated with the Hamzat and Al Shamiya factions controlling the villages of the Sherawa area of the Afrin city center, on 5/202020, set fire to the bushes surrounding Burj Al-Qas village, which destroyed hundreds of trees and agricultural crops, on the pretext of infiltration of the people of the region through it.

It is worth mentioning that the main goal is to impoverish the people and strike the basic necessities of living.
