Egyptian Foreign Minister meets representatives of the Cairo Group in the negotiating body
ARK News.. Egyptian media said that the Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shukri, received representatives of the Cairo Group in the Syrian negotiating body, to discuss the latest developments on the Syrian scene, and ways to advance the path of a political settlement.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Ahmed Hafez, stated that Minister Shukri "affirmed during the meeting, Egypt's keenness to support efforts to settle the Syrian crisis in accordance with Security Council Resolution 2254, and with a view to restoring security and stability in Syria and achieving the aspirations of the brotherly Syrian people."
The Foreign Ministry spokesman added, "the Syrian delegation was keen on its part to inform Minister Shukri about the latest developments in the Syrian territories, and on the level of political efforts to search for a solution in Syria."
