Pope Francis calls for an "immediate ceasefire" in Syria

ARK News.. Pope Francis, on Sunday, called for an "immediate global cease-fire", especially in Syria, Yemen, Iraq and Lebanon. During a sermon delivered on Easter at the Vatican.

The Pope criticized the huge sums of money spent on the arms trade, and said: "This is not a time of indifference, because the entire world is suffering and needs to unite in the face of the Corona epidemic."

He urged political leaders to "work actively for the common good, and to provide the means to enable everyone to lead a decent life and help them." He also called for "reducing the debt of the poorest" in the world.
