Clarification from Roj Peshmerga command on what the PKK media recently reported
ARK News.. The leadership of the Roj Peshmerga Forces, on Tuesday, April 6, 2020, issued a statement to the public opinion, denying what was recently circulated about the arrest of a fighter attributed to those forces in Libya. The ARK Media Foundation received a copy of the statement stating:
Many social media pages and websites have published news of the arrest of (Shaker Farman Bounjaq) by the Libyan authorities while he is fighting alongside pro-Turkish forces in Libya, as well as, some websites belonging to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) attributed it to forces (Roj Peshmerga) in an attempt to discredit our forces, so we call the attention of all parties to this important and necessary clarification:
The aforementioned person was not in any way a Roj Peshmerga within our forces, but had no relationship with our forces, neither from near nor from far. The aforementioned resorted with his family after the events of the year 2012 in Syria to the Kurdistan Region, and he was among the thousands of refugees from the Syrian people of all sects and different nationalities (Kurds, Arabs and Christians), then he sought refuge in Turkey and settled there and he did not return to the Kurdistan Region after that.
Moreover, the Roj Peshmerga is a Kurdish force that was established to defend the people and land of Kurdistan against all forms of terrorism, foremost among them is ISIS terrorist terrorism, it has also assumed the responsibility of ensuring security, safety and stability for the Kurdistan people, and respect for all the peoples of the region.
We, the Kurds, appreciate and respect the Libyan people, and we condemn the attempt by some parties to link the name of our forces with some of the bodies that fight in areas that we do not have access to and that we have nothing to do with them.
