ARK News: More than 100 tents were destroyed in Al-Mahmoudly camp, west of Raqqa, northeastern Syria, following a rainstorm that struck the province on Friday-Saturday night.

An administrator at the camp said that the storm destroyed about 100 tents, despite the fact that the camp administration had taken proactive measures to prevent the damage.

The administrator, AbdulHadi, called on relief organizations to provide basic aid to support the families whose tents were destroyed, noting that additional numbers of IDPs have come to the area from Idlib.

In his turn, a worker at Al-Mawadda Relief Organization, west of Raqqa City, pointed out that some tents had also collapsed in the random camps in the eastern Al-Salhabiya area and the village of Ya’rab, west of Raqqa, due to the storm.

The displaced people in Raqqa camps suffer from difficult humanitarian conditions as a result of atmospheric depressions and lower temperatures, which causes the spread of diseases, especially among children, in the absence of the role of international and humanitarian organizations.
