ARK News: In response to the calls made regarding the unity of the Kurdish position, and as goodwill gesture, the presidency of the Kurdish National Council ENKS decided to open the offices of the Council and the headquarters of its parties, in order to enhance confidence and build on it to resolve various contentious issues, on that subject, the website of the Kurdistan Democratic Party – Syria explored the opinions of some leaders of the Kurdish National Council:

A member of the Presidency of the Kurdish National Council, Faisal Youssef, said: "The Council did not take a decision in the past to close its offices, but they were prevented from being opened by Asayish the PYD’s administration. The Council decided to re-work in it publicly after the same authorities that closed them announced that they will not object practicing the political, media and office activities of the Council.

Youssef explained, the council has always stressed the necessity of the unity of the Kurdish position and its importance and its strength to extract recognition of the rights of the Kurdish people in Syria and achieve its partnership in the future of the country by implementing the relevant international decisions and drafting a new constitution that achieves Syria for all its sons and the establishment of those rights in it according to the shared Kurdish vision, which we consider to be a reference point which is indispensable, and in this context, the next step, after completing the confidence-building steps with the PYD and one package, we are adopting the Duhok Ground Agreement for Dialogue with international sponsorship and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

Youssef stressed that the council is still waiting for a statement from the PYD the situation of the detainees and the kidnapped in order to move towards building strong foundations for the unified Kurdish position.

As for Suleiman Oso, a member of the Presidency of the Kurdish National Council, said: “The presidential statement to open the offices of the Council and the headquarters of its parties is clear, and we aim for it that we are serious in our vision about the unity of the situation and the Kurdish row, although many of the confidence-building measures files have not ended yet, especially the file of detainees and missing persons, and investigations will continue with this file to show the truth and hold the perpetrators accountable.

Oso pointed out that the aim of this is to move to important files such as the unified political vision on the rights of the Kurdish people and the position on the regime and the opposition, and where should we be in accordance with our unified political vision and the partnership file in all its forms?

As for the head of the local councils of the Kurdish National Council Mohsen Taher, he stated to our party’s website: “The decision to open offices is not the result of the moment, rather, the decision was taken through the session of the National Council nearly a year ago. Just before the spring, in preparation for celebrating the coming of the glorious festivals of March, which is truly the month of (the Kurds) because of its joys and sorrows.

Taher stressed that opening the offices will enhance the ability and masses of the council to carry out peaceful activities that have not stopped throughout the closure period, and will assure the far and near that the Kurdish National Council still has the overwhelming mass power behind the national project led by leader Masoud Barzani, armed with the approach of Barzani the immortal.

Taher made clear that the latest statement by the administration of the PYD is a facet of interpretation, lacking the strength of evidence and clarifying the truth, as the statement came truncated and confused, and did not exceed paving for vague words, phrases and expressions, so everyone is still waiting for clarity and transparency about this dilemma, the attention of the families of the missing remains tight in the hope of embracing their children soon.
