The death toll in China is increasing
ARK News.. The death toll of the coronavirus in China has increased to 259 people, with confirmed infections already near 12,000, ads the Beijing government, AFP reported.
All but one of the new deaths are in the worst-hit Hubei province, the epicenter of the disease.
The coronavirus appeared in December in the capital of Wuhan province and was traced to a market for game meat.
Chinese Prime Minister Li Ketziang has called on the EU, meanwhile, to accelerate the delivery of medical supplies to combat coronavirus. The Chinese government relies on the support of EU countries, he said in a telephone interview with European Commission President Ursula von der Lien.
According to the PM, Beijing is ready to provide the EU and its other international partners with all the necessary information on the internal situation in China.
Beijing’s Foreign Ministry has criticized the US decision to restrict Chinese citizens from entering its territory because of a coronavirus.
Earlier, Washington declared a public health emergency due to the coronavirus epidemic in China and announced that it was temporarily prohibiting entry into the United States of foreign nationals, which could be a potential danger.
The government also restricts flights from China to seven US airports. All aircraft from China will be flown to New York’s “J. F. Kennedy ”and the airports in Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Atlanta, Honolulu, and Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Vietnam have suspended their flights to China because of the infection.
