Jeffrey: Turkey's efforts to conclude deals with the Russians in Syria will not help
ARK News: The United States' special envoy for Syria, James Jeffrey, said he had warned Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan not to trust Russian President Vladimir Putin. He pointed out that American officials are "shocked" by the violent attack by Russia and the regime in Idlib.
Jeffrey added: “We made clear to Erdogan several times that his efforts to conclude deals with the Russians in northeastern Syria and northwestern Syria will not help, and I myself told him that you cannot trust Putin ... and he himself sees the results of that now.”
He expressed US support for "Turkey's efforts to strengthen its observation points," and said that Washington was closely monitoring the situation.
