Taher Safouk reveals the topics which was discussed between the ENKS delegation and Mikhail Bogdanov

ARK News: A member of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Kurdish National Council in Syria said that the Russian President's envoy to the Middle East and North Africa expressed his country's full readiness to support the legitimate Kurdish rights in Syria, and the Kurdish National Council asked the Russian side to play a major role in solving the Syrian crisis in accordance with the Security Council resolution ( 2254).

A delegation from the Foreign Relations Committee of the Kurdish National Council in Syria headed by Kamiran Hajo, Chairman of the ENKS Foreign Relations Committee, on Thursday, 30.01.2020, met with Mikhail Bogdanov, the Russian President's envoy to the Middle East and North Africa, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia.

After the meeting ended, during a press conference, Taher Safouk, a member of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Kurdish National Council in Syria, said: During the meeting, which was at the request of the Russian side, the two parties discussed the situation in Syria in general and Syrian Kurdistan in particular.

Safouk said: The ENKS delegation asked Mikhail Bogdanov that Russia have to play a major role in resolving the Syrian crisis in accordance with Security Council Resolution 2254, and that Russia support the rights of the Kurds and all components in Syria.

A member of the ENKS Foreign Relations Committee added: During the meeting, the current situation in the Kurdish regions in Syrian Kurdistan, was discussed, and how to manage the region according to the current circumstances, especially in "Afrin, Sari Kaniye, Gire Spi", which are controlled by Turkish forces and their armed militias.

Taher Safouk added, “the delegation of the Kurdish National Council asked the envoy of the Russian President to provide assistance in the matter of returning the displaced Kurds to their homes in Afrin, Sari Kaniye, Gire Spi,” and to put an end to the violations of the armed groups practicing in the Kurdish areas which are controlled by Turkey and its armed militias.

Safouk said: Mikhail Bogdanov stressed his country's full readiness to support Kurdish rights, as well as the rights of all other components in Syria, and that Russia supports all solutions that would contribute to solving the Syrian crisis.
