ARK News: With the intensification of bombardments by the Syrian regime and Russian forces on areas in Idlib governorate and the southern and western Aleppo countryside, the Kurdish region of Afrin witnesses the flow of hundreds of Arab displaced families by the war and the continuous bombing of these areas, to the villages and areas of Afrin, where armed factions settle Arab families in the homes of displaced Kurds.

According to local sources from Afrin: The region is witnessing an influx of hundreds of displaced families from Idlib to the city of Afrin and its villages and towns. Adding that the families settle the prefabricated buildings to house in, while some factions intend to settle the Arab families in the homes of the Kurds, especially the displaced from them to the rural areas of Aleppo (Shahba areas).

According to the videos posted on social media, hundreds of cars belonging to the IDPs from Idlib are heading towards Afrin.

Since the start of the military operation on the Aleppo and Idlib countryside by the Syrian regime and the Russian forces, thousands of families have fled to other regions and the Turkish-Syrian border, especially after the regime took control of strategic sites and areas in the Syrian north, such as Khan al-Sabil, Babilan, Dana, Ma`saran, Ma`rat al-Nu`man and some other villages and towns, as the regime reached to the outskirts of Saraqeb.

The Afrin region has undergone a systematic demographic change, with the settlement of tens of thousands of Arab settlers in it, since the war began two years ago 2018, and the process continues until today. At the same time, tens of thousands of indigenous Kurds live in the rural areas of Aleppo, which have become known as the Shahba areas, where the PYD is preventing the return of Kurdish families to Afrin region.
