Statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry on the meeting with a delegation from ENKS in Moscow

ARK News: The Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Middle East and African countries and the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikhail Bogdanov, on the ninth of December 2019, received a delegation from the Kurdish National Council in Syria (ENKS) opposition headed by the head of the Council's Foreign Relations Office and a member of the Syrian Constitutional Committee Kamiran Hajo and each of Ibrahim Biro and Ismail Hassaf, members of the Council's Foreign Relations Committee.

During the meeting, the situation in Syria was discussed in detail with focusing on the situation in the northeastern regions of the country and the issue of implementing the Russian-Turkish agreement signed in Sochi on October 22. Views were also exchanged on issues related to the process of the political solution in Syria in accordance with Security Council Resolution 2254, as well as the results of the previous two Geneva sessions related to the issue of the Constitutional Committee.

During the meeting, the focus was on the need to take into account the rights of the country's ethnic and religious components.
