
Afrin .. Armed factions cut down trees their olds are more than 100 years
ARK News: Armed factions in the Kurdistan region of Afrin, on Sunday, December 7, 2019, seized some olive groves in “Dargire” village of Mabata town and cut down trees, their ages are over 100 years to obtain firewood.
Owners of olive groves in the village of Dargire, which is controlled by Al-Hamzat faction, confirmed that armed militias attacked their farms in the early hours of Sunday morning and cut down at least 90 olive trees.
For their part, eyewitnesses from the village of Dargire indicated that an armed group was carrying firewood with agricultural tractors and heading towards Afrin, the city, through the neighboring villages.
The looted farms are owned, according to a source close to the family, told ARK Media Foundation to each of: “Ahmed Brimko, Muhammad Brimko and Mustafa Dayan who are from the village of Dargire, and they are still in the village. Note that there are many checkpoints of the armed factions across the road from Afrin to the aforementioned village, which prevents the residents from transporting firewood, except with prior approval, but that the wood that was looted by the factions and their followers is not subject to inspection and monitor.
The series of violations continue in Afrin, which was controlled by Turkey and the armed factions, March 18, 2018, and organized chaos has spread in light of the poor security conditions and a large number of killings, kidnappings, and arrests, not to mention the looting of agricultural crops and the cutting of fruit and olives trees for firewood.
