The number of Syrian refugees arriving in the Kurdistan Region exceeded 13 thousand
ARK News; According to statistics issued by the Barzani Charity Foundation, the number of Syrian refugees arriving in the Kurdistan region after the Turkish military operation in eastern Euphrates in Syria from 9th of this month until 11:00 pm on Saturday, November2, 2019, reached 13582 refugees (2716 families), while 260 Syrian refugees only arrived in the region over the past 24 hours.
The number of Syrian refugees living in the Kurdistan region of Iraq before the Turkish military operation is about 230 thousand Syrian refugees, about 40% of them reside in nine camps in the provinces of Duhok, Erbil, and Sulaimaniyah, more than 13,000 Syrian refugees have arrived in the Kurdistan region shortly after the Turkish military operation.
The United Nations is concerned that 50,000 Syrian refugees will cross in the short term to the Kurdistan region if the current situation in northeastern Syria continues to remain intenseness.
