Dr. Abdul Hakim Bashar: We discussed with the US State Department the involvement of Roj Peshmerga and ENKS in any future arrangements in the region
ARK News: Dr. Abdul Hakim Bashar, a member of the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria and Vice President of the National Coalition of the Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces, told the website of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, that the delegation of the Kurdish National Council met with Joel Rayburn, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, where there was talk on the Constitutional Committee and its support for America in accordance with resolution 2254, which may constitute a step in the way of a political solution with the continued US pressure on the regime and its supporters.
Bashar added that the two sides discussed the situation in the east of the Euphrates and the need to avoid military solutions and the search for political solutions, and the need to involve the forces of the Roj Peshmerga and the Kurdish National Council in any future arrangements in the region, with the stressing the need for PKK to stop its intervention in the Syrian Kurds affairs.
Bashar said: "The delegation of the Council confirmed its vision of a political solution in Syria based on the reference of resolution 2254 and the need to ensure the rights of the Kurds constitutionally as well as maintaining good relations with neighboring countries."
US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Joel Rayburn, on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, met with the delegation of the Kurdish National Council in Syria in Geneva.
The delegation of the Kurdish National Council included Kamiran Hajo, the head of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Kurdish National Council, and Dr. Abdul Hakim Bashar, Vice President of the National Coalition of the Revolutionary and Syrian Opposition Forces and Ibrahim Biro, member of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Kurdish National Council.
Representatives of the National Council have taken part in the Constitutional Committee in the session which Special Envoy Geir Pederson held at the UN building.
