Russia: Under the Sochi Agreement, Turkish forces will not enter Manbij and Kobani
ARK News: The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the Sochi Memorandum of understanding which announced between Moscow and Ankara does not require the presence of Turkish forces in the cities of Manbij and Kobani, Moscow expressed opposition to the establishment of a safe area in northern Syria under international monitoring.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin said Moscow saw no point in establishing a safe area under international supervision in northeastern Syria.
In an interview with the Russian news agency RIA Novosti, the Russian diplomat pointed out that the agreement on northern Syria, which ended the talks between Russian Presidents Vladimir Putin and Turkish Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the Russian city of Sochi on Tuesday, does not require the presence of Turkish troops in Manbij and Kobani.
