The agreement of US-Turkish .... absence or absent of SDF

ARK News: Despite the announcement by the United States and Turkey of an agreement on the next phase of the safe area in northern Syria and the eastern Euphrates and the Turkish military operation, however, the statements that followed the agreement contradict each other, while the final parameters have not been determined yet.

According to the US-Turkish agreement announced last Thursday 17th of this month, that the United States will work with the YPG to secure its withdrawal depth 32 kilometers (20 miles) from the Syrian-Turkish border, as the agreement also includes that Turkey will not engage in military action in the city of Kobani, which was entered by Syrian regime forces, and that the Turkish military operation ends upon the withdrawal of the YPG is completed.

In this regard, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday at a press conference, the Turkish agreement with the US side includes the area extending from Kobani to the Iraqi border, i.e. 440 km and a depth of 32 km, while the commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces Mazloum Abdi announced that the agreement includes areas of engagement between Sari Kaniye and Tal Abyad only.

The Turkish president added that he will discuss the issue of Qamishlo and its situation in the safe area where there are forces of the Syrian regime, also with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, during the meeting next Tuesday.

For his part, the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavus Oğlu announced further details of the agreement, where he stressed that the safe area extends to a depth of 32 kilometers in Syria from the east of the Euphrates to the Iraqi border, it was also agreed that PYD militants would hand over their heavy weapons to the US military, and that Turkish troops would take control of the safe area in Syria.
