The text of the US-Turkey agreement on the cessation of the Turkish military operation on the eastern Euphrates

ARK News: US Vice President Mike Pence announced on Thursday an agreement with Turkey to halt military operations in northern Syria, revealing the terms of the agreement.

At a press conference in Ankara, Pence, following his meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, revealed the details of the ceasefire agreement, which included the following items:

1. Halting Turkey the military operation to allow the withdrawal of the YPG within 120 hours.

2. -The United States will work with the YPG to secure its withdrawal at a depth of 32 kilometers (20 miles) from the Syrian-Turkish border.

3. The agreement stipulates that Turkey will not engage in military action in the city of Kobani, which Syrian forces entered.

4. End the Turkish military operation upon completion of the withdrawal of the YPG.

5. The United States will not have soldiers on the ground in Syria.

6. America and Turkey are committed to reaching a peaceful agreement on the safe area in Syria, ensuring the security of Ankara and the Kurds.

7. Protection of minorities in northern Syria, and protection of prisons there.

8. Defeating ISIS is a common goal.

9. The United States backs down from imposing additional sanctions on Turkey.

For his part, the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavus Oglu announced other items, including:

10. The safe area extends to a depth of 32 kilometers in Syria from the east of the Euphrates to the Iraqi border.

11. "Discussion" between Turkey and Russia on the status of Manbij and other regions.

12. The cessation of military operations only aims to allow the YPG to leave the safe area.

13. Agreement to hand over heavy weapons of the PYD militants to the US military.

14. The control of Turkish forces on the safe area in Syria.
