ARK News: US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democrat leader Chuck Schumer have "strongly" criticized the truce deal reached in northern Syria which reached by Washington with Turkey.

US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democrat leader Chuck Schumer described in a joint statement the US-Turkey agreement to stop Ankara's attack in northeastern Syria as a "shame.

The Democratic leaders said the deal "seriously undermines confidence in US foreign policy and sends a dangerous message to our allies and adversaries alike, that no one can believe our word."

The statement added that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan "did not give up anything, while President Trump handed him everything."

Pelosi and Schumer confirmed that the House of Representatives will vote on a package of sanctions against Turkey, submitted by the Republican and Democratic parties, next week.
