ARK News: The Kurdish National Council decides to suspend the presence of representatives of the Council for coalition meetings.

The General Secretariat of the Kurdish National Council held an extraordinary meeting on Sunday 13/10/2019 in its office in the al-Siyahi neighborhood in Qamishlo.

The meeting took place against the backdrop of the Turkish aggression against the Kurdish areas in Syrian Kurdistan, to determine the position of the Council and the practices of the so-called (Free National Army), in particular, the field executions of civilians, the displacement of indigenous people from the region and a demographic change such as “what happened in the Kurdish region of Afrin”.

Regarding this meeting, Mr. Mohammed Ismail member of the Presidency of the Kurdish Council stated to the National Council website saying: “We took a series of decisions in the light of recent developments in the region, especially the Turkish barbaric attack on areas adjacent to the Turkish border, and the decision to ignore the coalition understandings with the Kurdish Council and lack of respect for its privacy and the privacy of the Kurdish areas as well as the coalition support for armed factions. ”

And Ismail added that ignoring the coalition formation of the constitutional committee, which was based on the desired political solution in Syria, he added, and thus announce the suspension of the presence of representatives of the Council in the coalition meetings until further consultations to take appropriate options.

Ismail affirmed the Council's condemnation of the military operations, calling for an end to them, and called on the international community to find political solutions in Syria in general and to resolve the Kurdish issue in particular, and work on relief aspects.

stressing the Council's rejection of any demographic change targeting the Kurdish presence under any pretext.
