ARK News: The Turkish Ministry of Defense has announced via Twitter that all preparations for a military operation in Syria have been completed.

The establishment of a safe zone (referred to by the Turkish government as a peace corridor) was necessary to ensure Syrian security. This will contribute to the stability of "our region".

"All preparations for the operation have been completed," it said in the nightly Twitter message from the Turkish Ministry of Defense.

The Turkish military would never allow "the creation of a terror corridor" on the Turkish borders, it said on Twitter on.

Late on Monday evening, it had been reported that the Turkish Air Force had flown at least one airstrike on a base of the "Syria’s Democratic Forces" (SDF) in Syria.

Just days before, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had announced that Ankara could launch a military operation in neighboring Syria, east of the Euphrates, in the coming days.
The goal should be to clear the border area of the PKK party and the YPG militants.
