ARK News: The poet Abdul Halim Abu Zeid, a member of the Kurdistan Writers Union of Syria, departed on Monday, 7 October 2019, after a sudden heart attack. The Kurdistan Writers' Union of Syria mourned the departure of one of its members, the poet Abdul Halim Abu Zeid. According to the mourn: He was buried at ten on Tuesday morning at the cemetery of Qaddour Bag in the city of Qamishlo in Syrian Kurdistan.

With sadness and sorrow, the Kurdistan Writers Union Syria mourns the death of the fellow poet Abdul Halim Abu Zaid (Bavê Gernas) last night after a sudden heart attack, and with this grievous casualty, we comfort ourselves and the Kurdish people and the family of the deceased with his death, which has caused us all to his departure, and he tomb will be buried at 10:00 am in the cemetery of Qaddour Bag in Qamishlo. We can only say we belong to Allah and to Him, we shall return.
