Youssef Hamoud: We will participate with 14 thousand armed in the operation east of the Euphrates
ARK News: In a press statement on Sunday, the official spokesman of the so-called "Syrian National Army", Major "Youssef Hamoud," that the number of gunmen who will participate in the forthcoming military operation east of the Euphrates will reach 14 thousand gunmen.
“Turkey will soon be moving forward with its long-planned operation into Northern Syria,” the White House press secretary said in a statement yesterday.
In the first Turkish comment following the statement, Erdogan’s spokesman Ibrahim Kalin yesterday said that Turkey’s “safe zone” plan was within the framework of Syria’s territorial integrity.
Turkey says it wants to settle up to 2 million Syrian refugees in the zone. It currently hosts 3.6 million Syrians sheltering from the more than eight-year conflict in their homeland.
This comes at a time when the Turkish president announced the possibility of the start of the Turkish military operation in the east of the Euphrates today or tomorrow.
