A statement about the crime that occurred in a suburb of Erbil

ARK News: Despite the great safety, which the Kurdistan Region of Iraq witnesses and the safe and stable situation enjoys by the Syrian Kurds in the region, compared to their Syrian refugees in neighboring countries, that the horrendous crime committed two days before in a suburb of Erbil, which claimed the lives of all members of the family of a Syrian Kurd (the deceased Bassam Hussein Misho of five people, husband, wife and three children), is a purely criminal offense and has no other dimensions, this has been definitively confirmed after making several contacts with the concerned authorities in the region.

Despite the absolute conviction that the Government of the Kurdistan Region will do its duty to the fullest through the disclosure of the circumstances of the crime and the prosecution of offenders and arrest them and bring them to justice to achieve a just penalty, the leadership of the Kurdistan Regional Office of our Party (PDK-S) initiated the formation of a leadership committee to communicate with the relevant authorities in the region to follow up and emphasize the need to achieve retribution, while we express our full solidarity with the family and express our confidence in the Kurdistan Region Government and its security and judicial organs, we call on our people to remain calm and not to be dragged behind the various reactions that may be made by some to seek to exploit this crime for other purposes.
