The student union official tells ARK about the fact of the closure of five schools Erbil

ARK News: Local media circulated on September 19, 2019 news of the closure of five schools for Syrian Kurdistan refugees in Erbil province in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.

Ahmed Mohammed Amin, head of the Kurdistan branch of the Student and Youth Union Kurdistan Democratic-West, said on Sunday (September 29th) to ARK News that UNICEF has stopped supporting the five schools.

Mohamed Amin denied the closure of the five schools, pointing out that the Union continues with the concerned parties in the regional government in order to provide support from the latter to these schools, while at the same time expected to reach a result and resolve the file within a week.

It is noteworthy that there are 32,900 students from Syrian Kurdistan in the region, an average of 16,400 students in Erbil, 4,000 students in Sulaimaniyah, and 12,500 students in Duhok.
