Turkey withdraws hundreds of faction militias in Afrin

Sep 29 2019

ARK News: Cross sources confirmed from the Kurdish town of Afrin, that the Turkish authorities had withdrawn on Friday morning, September 27, 2019, hundreds of militias of different factions inside Turkish territory through the village of Hammam border crossing in Jenderes.

The sources said that the militias entered the Turkish territory through the crossing with their individual weapons only, and left their heavy weapons in their headquarters in Afrin, without knowing the destination of those militias, pointing to the movements continued until the evening.

The Turkish president had announced earlier, completing his country's preparations for the establishment of a "safe area" in Syrian Kurdistan.

Observers see that the movements of the factions in Afrin linked to Ankara's preparations for unilateral military action in the east of the Euphrates, amid repeated assurances by Turkish officials dissatisfaction with the developments of talks with Washington on the planned safe area.
