Elham Ahmed announces the withdrawal of armed militants 19 kilometers from the border and the destruction of all tunnels

ARK News: President of the Executive Board of the Democratic Council of Syria, affiliated to the Democratic Union Party the PYD, Ilham Ahmed, announced that the YPG militants withdrew from the Syrian-Turkish border by 12 miles (19 kilometers).

Ahmed said in an interview with the magazine "Foreign Policy" US: "YPG militants removed the fortifications and tunnels on the border, and pulled heavy weapons such as tanks and artillery by 12 miles."

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan presented to the United Nations General Assembly the plan to establish a safe zone east of the Euphrates in northern Syria, considering that the completion of this process may allow the return of two million Syrians to their homeland.

It is worth mentioning that the second joint ground patrol between Turkish and US forces in areas east of the Syrian Euphrates, began on Tuesday, as part of efforts to form a safe zone. According to the Anatolian Agency, four Turkish armored vehicles crossed to the Syrian side of the district of Agca Castle of the province of “Şanlıurfa”, to participate in the second ground patrol.
