Fouad Aliko: America will work to satisfy Ankara on the PYD account
ARK News: A Kurdish leader revealed that Turkey will not make a direct military intervention in the east of the Euphrates, but America will work to satisfy Ankara by means that will enable it to fulfill part of its demands and dispel its concerns at the expense of the PYD.
Fouad Aliko, a member of the political committee of the Kurdistan Yekiti Party- Syria, said: There is still uncertainty about the US-Turkish understanding even on the naming (peace corridor, safe area, security mechanisms) according to the American description, pointing out that this is accompanied by US optimism and Turkish pessimism, accompanied by daily threats by the Turkish President of military intervention in case the Americans did not meet their requests about the depth of the region and its supervision and management.
Aliko added: I do not think that Turkey will make a direct military intervention, but America will work to satisfy Ankara by means to enable it to achieve part of its demands and dispel concerns at the expense of the PYD.
He pointed out that during the Turkish president's recent meeting with Trump in New York at the end of this month, some features of the understanding will take shape.
