ARK News: Ariadi said in a statement to Syria TV site that the UN envoy to Syria, Geir Pederson may set the date for the announcement of the formation of the constitutional committee during the meeting of the Security Council on the 30th of this month.

The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has confirmed during the press conference which followed the Ankara tripartite summit last Monday, that the Constitutional Committee will begin its work as soon as possible, and I can say that there are no obstacles to its work, Ariadi stressed that the Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres is with this trend, pointing out that the announcement of the formation of the Constitutional Committee is just around the corner.

Ariadi revealed that the UN envoy will visit Damascus next Monday, and it is expected to overcome all obstacles that were centered on the people and rules governing the work of the Commission, unless the Assad regime came up with new obstacles, which is not excluded by the negotiating body.

He stressed that the Assad regime does not want the constitutional process, the line that he draws is the military line against the Syrian people, through the military killing device, arrest and prisons, and sees no need for a political process.

He added that the regime wants to reform and develop the constitution, while the United Nations and international resolutions and the negotiating body to demand a new constitution governing a constitutional life free from tyranny and the centralization of dictatorial powers in the hands of the President.

On the outcome of the meeting, which gathered the Negotiating Body with representatives of the mini-group in Geneva last Thursday, Ariadi stressed that the mini-group is moving towards the pressure to engage in the political process through the Constitutional Committee, and the stop the military operation.
