A statement on the prevention of Asayish PYD of holding a cultural seminar for local council of Corniche neighborhood

ARK News: Asayish of the PYD on the evening of Sunday 15/9/2019, prevented of holding a cultural seminar which was prepared by the Local Council of the Corniche neighborhood in Qamishlo of the Kurdish National Council in Syria, and arrested Mr. Qadri Jan, the head of the Local Council, for several hours.

The Kurdish National Council condemns these practices, which perpetuate and deepen the rift in the Kurdish community, which comes in the context of PYD's insistence on continuing to prevent any public, political or cultural activity declared in a repressive manner, this shows how deeply rooted the culture of their authoritarianism and those who disregard the feelings of the people and values that have always respected the freedom of political or cultural work .. In Kurdish society, it also proves the falsity of their claim not to be exposed to political activities and mass movement and the extent of their credibility in calling on the Kurdish National Council to open its offices to be as they want from this as a cover of these practices, which have long been denounced by the Kurdish people, and found in the freedom of political and public action the key to democracy and credibility at work.
