Russian and US military chiefs discuss the latest developments in Syria
RK News: Russia's chief of staff, Valery Gerasimov, on Wednesday discussed with his US counterpart Joseph Danford the situation in Syria as part of the prevention of incidents during counter-terrorism operations.
"On September 4, there was a telephone conversation between the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, First Deputy Defense Minister, Army Gen. Valery Gerasimov, and Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Joseph Danford," a Defense Ministry statement said.
The statement added that the two sides "discussed the situation in Syria in the context of preventing incidents during operations against armed organizations."
