“Bab al-Hawa” announces the number of Syrians deported from Turkey during August

ARK News: Turkey has deported nearly nine thousand Syrian refugees who were on its territory to Syria, according to statistics published by the Bab al-Hawa border crossing, during the month of August.

The crossing said in statistics which is published on Tuesday, September 3, through its official knowledge on the "Telegram", that 8901 people entered the Syrian territory deported from Turkish territory which is the largest toll of deportees since last May.

The total number of people entering the Syrian territory from Turkey, according to statistics is 42 thousand Syrians, most of them entered for the holiday of Eid al-Adha, some of them were pilgrims.

While the number of departures to the Syrian territory from the border crossing north of Idlib province is about 14 thousand Syrians.

The entry of deportees into Syria through the Bab al-Hawa crossing is not limited to all official and unofficial access points between Syria and Turkey.

In a previous statistic of the border crossing, on last August 4, the number of deportees in July reached 6160 people, while the number of deportees in June amounted to 4370 people and 3316 people in May.

The number of deportees has increased over the past month following the decisions of the Interior Ministry in Istanbul to deport violators of the temporary protection document granted by the Turkish authorities to Syrian refugees since mid-July, and to take similar steps in other states.
