Gavishoglu: The Turkish army will leave Syria once a political solution is reached
ARK News: Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said his country's army will leave Syria if a political solution is found.
"The Syrian regime does not believe in the existence of such a solution," Gavishoglu told a news conference in Norway on Friday, August 30th, and quoted by the newspaper Turkish "Daily Sabah".
The Turkish army is deployed in Syria in the northern countryside of Aleppo from the city of Bab in the east, to Afrin in the west, and in Idlib province among the 12 observation points, which were deployed under the agreement "de-escalation", which was announced in the talks of "Astana".
At the press conference, Gavishoglu said that Moscow had assured Ankara that the Syrian regime would not attack Turkish checkpoints in Idlib.
The Idlib province is witnessing a large military operation, which led to the regime's recent control over several strategic locations, in the southern countryside of Idlib, and in the northern countryside of Hama.
